DOES ORAIMO 27000 MAH CHARGE TO 100 PERCENT? | I'VE BEEN CHARGING MY ORAIMO POWER BANK FOR HOURS BUT IT GET STUCK AT 99% | ORAIMO POWER BANK DOES NOT GO BEYOND 99 PERCENT, WHY? | WHAT CAN I DO FOR MY ORAIMO POWER BANK THAT'S STUCK AT 99% AND NOT CHARGING UPTO 100%

Introduction

One issue has been raising serious questions from buyers and users of Oraimo Power Banks lately. It is the issue of Oraimo power bank being stuck at 99 percent and not charging upto 100 percent. I've always asked myself that should this be an issue? I knew the answer and I was not worried, even for the fact that I've seen several customers arguing with sellers on this issue. Not until I was faced with the same exact question. Joseph! Why does my power bank get stuck at 99 percent even if I charge it for a whole day? I answered the lady who asked me this question beautifully and she smiled and was satisfied. I then checked online only to see other people keep repeating this same question but could not find out the reason. Seems noone else knows why yet. This has made me decide to write on it today.

Oraimo 27,000 mAh Power Bank

Oraimo 27000 mAh power bank or Traveler 3 Byte, codenamed OPB-P271D, is a very strong power bank manufactured by the Oraimo company under Transsion. Owing to the fact that I also got one and tested it for months, I would say it's a very good power bank to get. I've had bad experiences with power banks in the past and although Anker/Redmi remains in my top list, the Oraimo 27,000 mAh is very good and is definitely worth the try if you're thinking about getting one.

How Fast does Oraimo 27,000 mAh power bank charge

Many prospective buyers have come up with this question so I planned to attend to it in this article. The Oraimo power bank takes its charging input from a 10W charger (must not be more than that) which is the same power that charges most Infinix and Tecno phones that does not support fast charging. If your phone does not support fast charging I'd love you to use it as an illustrative example. Your phone (maybe 4000mAh or 5000mAh) basically takes how many hours for it to charge fully? Using an Infinix X623 with 10W charging power and 4000 mAh battery as an example, I calculated roughly 3 hours for it to get fully charged to 100%.

Now, if a 4000 mAh battery charges for 3 hours, mathematically, a 27000 mAh battery should charge for (3/4000) × 27000 and that makes it roughly close to 21 hours.

This is only for a fully functional battery, the more you use it, the more the actual capacity declines and the less its charging hours becomes.

Why Oraimo 27000 mAh Power Bank does not charge upto 100%

As an electronics expert, I would want to answer this question in the most understandable way using the most understandable terms. The Oraimo twenty seven thousand mAh power bank does not use a LED indicator like its other counterparts, it uses a digital display. Now, digital displays are of different types: we have digital display that can display maximum of 10+ digits like your scientific calculator, we have digital displays that can display 5 digits like your wrist watch, your scales, everything around your house that makes use of digital displays, they have a maximum number of digits that they can display. If you were a techie like me you would have opened everything.

Whilst New age power banks (that charges upto 100 percent) use a '3 digit format' always on use digital display, an Oraimo 27000 mAh power bank also makes use of a principal '3 digit format' digital display but will only make use of the '2 digit' regularly.

The third digit which is a small 1 is not regularly used by the power bank. I found this out by opening one; there's a little 1 digit which is not programmed to be used always; usually until the power bank is continually being used for a while.

Should the display which shows only 00 - 99 be a problem? No!

Your power bank charging up to 99% and stopping right there is not a problem or fault at all. Charging upto 100 will only happen after you have started to use the power bank for a while.

What you should do when your Oraimo power bank does not charge upto 100 percent

When your Oraimo Power bank charges to 99 percent, it shouldn't be charged for more than 15 minutes to 30 minutes more before you unplug it. Charging it for long hours hoping for it to reach 100 will end up damaging the battery in the long run. The power bank reaching 100 happens only after it is being used for a long time, and if after 15 - 30 mins it is still on 99, that is not a problem. Unplug the power bank immediately and it is all good for use.

What does it mean if your Oraimo 27000 mAh charges upto 100 percent

I've seen some people boast of their Oraimo 27000 mAh power bank charging upto 100 percent. Yeah, it happens! I've seen it happen very well. However, when yours does not attain the 100 percent mark, do not get scared. It is general.

Whenever The power bank feels like showing 100, it would, without you even charging it for longer hours than usual, but most of the time it would stop in 99, especially if you just started using it.

Why you should not charge your Oraimo 27000 mAh with a speed or fast charger

Yes! This is a question I've been longing to answer and would love to answer over and over again. People are very stubborn and ignorant especially Nigerians! A product box shows that recommended charging power is 10W yet some people would still go ahead to use a 25W or even more than that to charge their power banks. That is very wrong! Badly wrong! At the end of the day you would hear them crying "oh! Oraimo product is fake do not buy!" when they obviously caused their problems with their own hands. If you are guilty of this act stop it right away. Do not use a Samsung or Xiaomi charger to charge an Oraimo Power bank. You would end up destroying the power bank's battery and then boom! your money is off to the skies!

How can you get an Original Oraimo 27000 mAh Power Bank

You can get an Original Oraimo 27000 mAh power bank by ordering it from their official store: https://ng.oraimo.com that is their Nigerian website, though claims report that their delivery can spend longer than imagined sometimes. An alternative is https://jumia.com. You can also get the original one from their offline stores: the most popular one is the one at the Alaba international market. Buying from unofficial stores is at your own risk. Buy only from a trusted store. Do not buy an Oraimo power bank that is looking shiny, original products don't shine, and there's no white color for this power bank. If anyone shows you a white one just walk away, that's definitely a fake one there.

Conclusion

I believe I've answered the lingering question in the hearts of Africans and Asians why Oraimo 27000 mAh power bank does not reach 100. After seeing this do not go back to stores and start complaining on this matter again, it makes you look like an ignorant who's shouting on what he doesn't know much about. You can go back and shout if you love shouting though. I would like it if they beat you up (don't mind me I'm only joking). Now I believe you are well informed. 2. Oraimo should consider including the right type of charger to the power bank pack, so as for the user not to choose wrong charger and thereby at the risk of destroying the item, even if it means adding to the purchasing cost.

    1. What you should do is to observe the number of hours it takes for each of the other LEDs to stop blinking, then when the final LED spends upto the number of hours for one, you unplug it. It should be around 3–4 hours of continuous charging.
